Privacy Policy

VeryCrowded is currently operated as an early-stage Singapore pilot under the name "VeryCrowded" ("Operator", "we", "us", "our"). We will update these terms when a registered legal entity is formed.

This Privacy Policy explains how VeryCrowded ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use our Service. It is written for our Singapore pilot and with reference to common Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) transparency expectations. This is starter PMF copy and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before scale.

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

• Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, account role (viewer or business owner), and account status metadata.
• Spot Nearby (user posts): if you post a Spot, we collect your chosen Spot nickname, Spot title and description, category/type, optional area label, map pin coordinates, expiry time, moderation status, and an optional photo you upload. Your email is not shown on public Spot cards; your nickname is shown instead.
• Usage and analytics: promo views, saves, shares, directions taps, call taps, website clicks, Spot views and posting events, and related interaction events tied to promos, Spots, or listings.
• Search analytics: we do not store raw search text in our search analytics table. We store anonymized fingerprints such as a hashed query fingerprint, query length, source surface, category filter, and result count.
• Location: approximate device location when you enable location for nearby discovery (for example explore and map features). Spot pins you place use coordinates you select on the map.
• Business content: business profile fields, promo titles, descriptions, images, areas, expiry information, and pin locations you submit as an owner.
• Feedback, reports, and claims: messages, ratings, report reasons, optional contact details, and claim/verification information you submit, including reports about promos or Spots.
• Technical and security data: IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, logs, anti-abuse signals, and hosting/security records.
• AI feature data: where AI assist features are used, we may process promo draft fields, aggregated operational metrics, or redacted queue summaries to generate suggestions. AI outputs and audit records may be stored for history and troubleshooting.

We use personal data to:

• Create and manage accounts and authenticate users.
• Provide nearby discovery, saved promos, Spot Nearby, and business dashboard features.
• Display Spots to nearby users, calculate approximate distance, and show your nickname on Spots you post.
• Review, approve, reject, or remove Spots, photos, and promos to keep the platform safe.
• Send optional email reminders where enabled (you can manage preferences in account settings).
• Measure product usage and improve the PMF pilot.
• Respond to feedback, support requests, and legal/privacy inquiries submitted via the app.
• Detect abuse, spam, and security incidents.

We rely on consent and contractual necessity for account and service delivery, and on legitimate interests for security, analytics, and platform improvement where appropriate under applicable law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it by contacting us or using in-product controls, though some features may no longer work.

We use service providers to operate the Service, including:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (including Spot photos in our storage bucket).
• Vercel — application hosting and technical logs.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot/abuse verification when enabled.
• Resend — transactional email delivery when enabled.
• Map tile and geocoding providers — map display and location lookup.
• AI provider — suggestion features when AI assist is enabled and configured.

These providers process data on our instructions to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal data. Spot content you choose to make visible on the map or feed may be seen by other users of the Service; it is not sold to third parties for advertising.

Our processors may store or process data in countries outside Singapore. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law and our agreements with providers.

If you enable reminders, we may send email notifications about promos or events according to your preferences. You can opt out or adjust reminder settings in your account where available.

We retain account and business listing data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for operational, safety, and legal purposes. Spots are time-limited by design; after a Spot expires or is removed, we may delete or de-identify associated text and photos within a reasonable period, subject to moderation, backup, and legal retention needs. Technical and security logs are kept for shorter periods where practical. We may retain anonymized or aggregated analytics longer.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or withdrawal of consent for your personal data. For questions, privacy requests, or legal notices, please contact us through the feedback form available in the VeryCrowded app.

If you believe your PDPA rights have been infringed, you may also contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore in accordance with applicable procedures.

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us through the in-app feedback form.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, but no system is completely secure. Please use a strong password and keep your login details confidential. Spot photos are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and are only shown publicly after moderation where that process applies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
